First Class

Luella and Karen Walker give me just the shades I need for my vacation to the 50's. It could happen any day now, I just got a free ticket on miles from Delta. They fly there, right?

Coming Up Roses

Get me some florals now. Pink and red please.
More modern than vintage, I want to feel romantic, not frilly.

What Summer Bummer?

And my heart is beating faster over Alexandra Cassaniti's Neoprene Bralette. It is a good thing to check the internet in the morning and see that this is available for pre-order on her website.
The collection is called Summer Bummer, but really it is anything but.

margiela my dear

I tried them on at Rogan, the large and small and they were both the best thing I've ever put on my face. I wish I had been in the spending mood... seriously, so amazing, least of all for the awesome tan line possibilities come summer

Tumble Dry Low

Do we see too few rad tags? Those scratchy little jerks are there for a reason- and that reason should be to make you laugh (or I offer social commentary it seems).

sk8r boy

LinkBusy reading up on the history of skate sneakers on Sneaker Freaker. Mostly for the off chance that a cute skater boy wants to talk about sneakers.
Part 1
Part 2
Note to said imaginary boy- you'd look good in these Jeff Staple Pigeons

Wish list:

Koons-esque piggy bank? yes please.

pigeon sex, really?

Hengst's Houdini Bandini

I'm loving Hengst's bandeau top. They call it a bandini which is a horrible name except for how it reminds me of Houdini and thus the endless possibilities of playing tricks and working magic by layering it. For modesty's sake, wear it on top of another top. It could provide a lot of interesting layering options and is probably actually sexier than exposing that much midriff- despite what spring runways were saying.

Pucker Up

Angelina Jolie photographed by Brad Pitt for W's November issue.

Ruffled my Feathers

People went nuts over the ruffled platforms and flats by Christian Louboutin at 3.1 Phillip Lim for Spring 09. The Gap, who has been getting better and better at diffusing trends into wearable classics, has put out an adorable although inexplicably-timed pair of ruffled sandals.
Seriously. I will want these in the spring and maybe even for "resort" even though I've never taken a resort vacation, but now? Nope. Throw some ruffled boots at my face instead.

Fast Forward

Revolve is launching a new luxury site called Forward while Net-a-Porter is launching a new discount site called The Outnet. Being as it is not a great time to be starting new retail businesses, I wonder which will be more successful. The debate over whether shoppers are looking for a few investment pieces or if they want to find a good deal is going strong across the entire fashion industry.
For retailers it looks like the smart move to make is to diversify and get a piece of every pie.

Maurie and Eve

Aussie label Maurie and Eve makes me want to, well move to Australia, bleach my hair, and draw my eyebrows on with a heavy hand. But also dress fabulously- mostly dress fabulously- in adorable cornflower blue peplum dresses.

Bootbands?

Headbands hit it big this year, so what can we look forward to next? If The 2 Bandits are right, its time to look south...to our calves. They make decorative bands to jazz up your boring boots. Are you buying it?
