so cute. i'm gonna go as a baby going as an owl.
I've been liking the fuzzy topper Lauren Davis was photographed wearing by Jak and Jil.
People went nuts over the ruffled platforms and flats by Christian Louboutin at 3.1 Phillip Lim for Spring 09. The Gap, who has been getting better and better at diffusing trends into wearable classics, has put out an adorable although inexplicably-timed pair of ruffled sandals.
Revolve is launching a new luxury site called Forward while Net-a-Porter is launching a new discount site called The Outnet. Being as it is not a great time to be starting new retail businesses, I wonder which will be more successful. The debate over whether shoppers are looking for a few investment pieces or if they want to find a good deal is going strong across the entire fashion industry.

Aussie label Maurie and Eve makes me want to, well move to Australia, bleach my hair, and draw my eyebrows on with a heavy hand. But also dress fabulously- mostly dress fabulously- in adorable cornflower blue peplum dresses.

Headbands hit it big this year, so what can we look forward to next? If The 2 Bandits are right, its time to look south...to our calves. They make decorative bands to jazz up your boring boots. Are you buying it?

Loving: tu.tu.blu's playful and sexy dresses with rope details.
The style blogosphere has been soberly recommending that simple, comfort-conscious fashion might be the most appropriate direction for dressing in these tough economic times. Dress down and stay grounded, they tweet. Thankfully, soft-wear has a number of design advocates, including Question-How-Do-I-Wear-This, Answer-Anyway-You-Want label Humanoid (above) and label-jumping skivvy-to-street pro Adam Lippes (below). Cashmere blends, tissue-thin jersey, complex draping, mute colors, you'll have plenty to choose from.
Louise Gray embellishes her designs with heavy garlands of geometric chain. Elizabeth and I tried our hands at Bliss Lau's delicate strands of chain in our at-home vest making (I'll post mine soon), but these creations might take some more industrial tools. And tons more metal.

Set of three "Porcelain Succulents" from Ballard Designs. I love how pristine they look, but if I buy these for our apartment, Elizabeth will have to restrain me from doing something crazy to them. I'm thinking Elmer's and glitter or, better yet, rainbow tie-dye!

I've been loving Karlie Kloss lately. She is so fierce, as seen in this spread for Russh. She makes being a pouty teenager so high fashion- and look, she gets tired too. I wish I looked so chic when I yawn.
We've been looking at decals for the walls of our apartment and sometimes you just strike gold. You just do.
We spend hours daily poring dutifully and gladly through thousands of fashion sites. This is a receptacle for all that data, finessed and punctuated with photos, links and commentary.
